Missouri's November firearms portion puts hunters in Ozark hardwoods, northern crop fields and timbered creek bottoms all over the state. A young or smaller hunter sitting that first opener deserves a rifle that fits, and Fierce Firearms made the Mini Rogue family to fill that need with a light carbon build.

The line is made for youth, women and smaller-framed hunters. A carbon fiber stock comes with a shorter length of pull and an adjustable comb or push-button cheek piece. Fierce dual-lug actions and TriggerTech or Bix'n Andy adjustable triggers help a new hunter make a clean shot. For Missouri whitetail, 6.5 Creedmoor and 7mm-08 are easy-shooting and plenty, with 3+1 or 4+1 capacity and barrels from 18 to 22 in.

6.5 Creedmoor is one of the most popular hunting and target cartridges in the country: mild recoil, good long-range accuracy and ammunition you can find almost anywhere.

This is the original Carbon Mini Rogue layout: stainless dual-lug action, 70-degree bolt lift, fluted bolt, an adjustable Bix'n Andy Dakota trigger and a hand-lapped match-grade barrel.

This rifle has a 20 in barrel, 4+1 capacity, and weighs about 5.8 lb. Finish: Purple Camo.

Fit matters even more when the shot comes off a shooting rail in a pop-up blind on the field edge. If the stock is too long, the shooter's elbow drops and the rifle wobbles. Shorten the pull to suit, then lift the comb until the eye is in line with the scope. Keep the first rifle in 22, 25 or 6.5 Creedmoor.
