Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal Type 44 Bolt Action Carbine 6.5x50mm

The Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal Type 44 is a used bolt-action carbine chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka, with an 18.5-inch round barrel. The supplier dates it to the late 1910s or 1920s and notes its permanently attached folding spike bayonet. The bore is bright with strong rifling, the serial numbers do not match, and the imperial chrysanthemum has been removed. The stock shows handling impressions and some wood loss near the buttplate, and the action is smooth and functions correctly.

Missouri's firearms deer portions allow centerfire rifles, and 6.5x50mm Arisaka is a centerfire cartridge. For 2026-27 the November firearms portion runs Nov. 14-24, with youth portions on Oct. 24-25 and Nov. 27-29. Check the MDC Fall Deer and Turkey booklet for your county's antlerless permits and any magazine limits. The carbine was built as a cavalry and support troop variant of the Type 38, which suits a collector.
