A .17 HMR is a rimfire cartridge, and rimfire rifles are not legal during Missouri's firearms deer portions, so this rifle suits target practice and light range work rather than deer season. The scope and laser module put it in a range-focused configuration for a Missouri shooter who wants optics on a light rimfire. The checkered synthetic stock is the main grip surface on the rifle.
