WWII German “bcd” Code K98k Bolt Action Rifle 8mm Mauser

This used WWII German Mauser K98k carries a bcd code and is chambered in 8mm Mauser with a 24-inch round barrel. The supplier dates it to about 1944 and attributes its manufacture to Gustloff-Werke in Weimar, under serial number 16748. The metal has aged to a plum patina, and several original Waffenamt inspection markings remain visible. The serial numbers do not match, and the supplier notes the rifle may be a post-war Russian capture or refurbishment. The bore shows light frosting with strong rifling, and the action is smooth and functions correctly.

Missouri's firearms portion allows centerfire rifles, so this 8mm Mauser falls within the November window that runs Nov. 14-24 for the 2026-27 deer season. Its military markings and period character make it a collector's rifle as much as a field rifle. Before any hunting use, check the MDC Fall Deer and Turkey booklet for the antlerless permits that apply in your county and for any magazine limits that govern this rifle.
