This used Smith & Wesson Model 642-1 is a .38 Special revolver with a 2-inch barrel and serial number DNL7838. The supplier describes a modern production J-frame airweight with a stainless steel, double-action-only action. It carries rubber Crimson Trace laser grips, the bore is excellent, and the supplier rates the overall condition as excellent. Its lightweight stainless construction and laser grips are the two features that set it apart from a standard J-frame with wood grips.

Missouri has no permit to purchase, no gun registration and no state waiting period, so the revolver is completed at a licensed dealer after the photo ID check and the federal NICS background check. The laser grips and short barrel suit carry, home defense or range use in the state. Federal rules set the dealer minimum age at 21 for handguns, so a buyer must meet that requirement before the transfer.
